Ruth Lyons made her first appearance on 5 December 1985. She is portrayed by Judy Liebert.
Storylines
Ruth is a social worker, who offers Pauline Fowler advice on caring for her ailing mother, Lou Beale. She did so at the request of her good friend, Dr. Harold Legg. Upon seeing Ruth and Dr. Legg drinking together or playing darts in the Queen Vic a few times, some locals are led to imagine that a romantic link exists between them. When Pauline mentions this to Dr. Legg, he finds the idea amusing and explains that Ruth is already 'married' — to the woman she lives with.
