Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Morton made his first appearance 4 September 2003. He is portrayed by Maurice Roëves.
Storylines[]
Geoff was the alcoholic father of Kate Morton, who arrived for her wedding to Phil Mitchell. He was not impressed on Phil's stag night, when Minty Peterson told him about Phil's immigrant ex-wife Nadia. He was also disappointed that Phil didn't drink, and accepted the dare of drinking a yard of ale, before being thrown out of The Queen Vic for insulting Nana Moon.
He then went to Angie's Den where he insulted Little Mo Mitchell and was hit by her husband, Billy. He later refused to attend Kate and Phil's wedding, but had a conversation with Phil about alcoholism and returned to Newcastle to seek help, however, in March 2004, Kate heard the news that Geoff had committed suicide.
