'Karin Smart' made her first appearance on 9 April 2015. She is portrayed by Denise van Outen.
She is Phil Mitchell's dodgy car-dealers wife, and the new love of Max Branning. She was a mysterious blonde bombshell, who sent sparks flying through Albert Square as soon as she arrived.
Storylines[]
When Karin arrives in Walford in search of Phil, she is quickly intercepted by a curious Max and the pair start talking, unaware that there is more to Karin than meets the eye. Jay Brown warns him that Karin's deceased husband was involved in a dodgy business, Max dismisses Jay and goes on to form a deal with Karin at the car lot, she then makes him an offer he can't refuse. After Max falls for Karin's charms, the pair soon head back to his place, and they later end up having sex. It is implied that Phil had meant this to happen. The following morning, Karin visits Phil and he pays her a large sum of money and she leaves. She returns weeks later to inform Max he must get rid of the cars, as the police are onto him. Max does, however, after Phil bribes him, he decides to sign the arches back over to Phil. Upon her departure, Karin revealed to Max that, in fact, Karin isn't her real name.
