Summary[]
Sharon and Michelle go to the canal to watch the police divers searching the canal for Den's body. Lesley Fisher turns up at the Vic to talk to Frank about ending his license with the brewery. She explains that area manager Reg Sparrow has been sacked, and she is his replacement. Nick prepares another meal for Dot, and she gets concerned that he has a different meal for himself.

Pauline is annoyed over the police's decision to search the canal once again for Den's body. Michelle agrees to go with Sharon to watch and wait by the canal side as the divers attempt to find a corpse. Frank wonders if he and Pat can get the new brewery manager, Lesley Fisher, to grant them exceptional circumstances for handing over the management of the pub with three months notice instead of twelve. Dot decides to change her will so that she donates the remainder of her £10,000 winnings to charity. Nick criticises Pete's fruit and vegetables. Frank buys Diane art books, pleasing her. Pauline decides to visit Michelle and Sharon at the canal side, irritating Michelle. Nick cooks Dot a healthy meal. Lesley is unable to be bribed by Frank. Pauline leaves the canal side and returns home to vent to Arthur. The police find a body in their search for Den and ask Michelle and Sharon to stand back as they resurface the corpse. Michelle and Sharon turn their heads in utter horror as the body is pulled to the surface. |
