Grant tells Phil that Dougie was on the phone, and he wants vengeance. Michelle cries upon seeing Pauline in hospital. David returns after some heavy nights away, asking Pat for some "serious" money.

Arthur delivers leaflets for some extra cash. Steve notices the mess upstairs at the Vic. Grant sticks to the story of the drunks. Sharon informs Mark and Pauline of Michelle's hospitalisation, and Pauline heads to the hospital while Sharon takes Martin and Vicki to school. Sanjay's phone around for Gita racks up a £300 bill. Mark asks Steve if he believes there were "drunks" in the Vic after closing. Pauline does not believe Michelle's injuries were sustained from drunks, but Michelle refuses to tell her what really happened, leading Pauline asks nurse Viv about Michelle's injuries but ends up nowhere nearer the truth. Carol requests that Pat speaks with Frank and gets him to put a word into the police about Robbie, hoping to soften his charges. Grant locks all private access doors at the Vic so that when Dougie returns, he can only get in via the main doors. He tells Phil he has placed a baseball bat behind the bar to allow them to protect themselves. Pat refuses to share Frank's disappearance with anyone. Steve is given the afternoon off work, so turns his attention to decorating the new hair salon with Della. The pair decide on a name for the salon - Kool for Kutz. Pauline demands answers from the Mitchell brothers, but Grant and Phil remain adamant that drunks hurt Michelle. Feeling Vicki is not safe in Grant and Sharon's care, Pauline waits for Sharon to return with Vicki so that she can reclaim her back. Arthur grows tired of delivering leaflets and eyes up a bin bag. He then drives off, but takes his eyes off the road and crashes into another car. Pauline confronts Sharon over the events of last night but gets nowhere. A policeman shows up at the Vic, and informs Grant and Phil that Dougie has been arrested. |

- This was the first episode to be produced by Barbara Emile, and instead of adopting the title of executive producer, Emile was credited under the title of series producer.
- For an unknown reason, the programme skipped the production code of episode three of their new allocated renumbering and went straight to episode four meaning this episode had the production code of a fourth episode rather than a third, and each thereafter would also follow this regime.
